Sisters of Charity Children Home – Cheddikulam

Most of the children in this home have parents, with very low income. These children are aged between 8 to 17 years old. Most parents provide funds to allow their daughter to stay at the convent. ACF fund the children who unable to meet the cost to board at the convent home. There are currently 45 girls who attend the convent, of which ACF assist 20. ACF has also provided bathroom and toilet facilities and a playground for the convent.

ABOUT AROBANAM CHILDREN FUND

ACF was founded to provide both urgent humanitarian relief and long-term rehabilitation for less fortunate children in the Northern and Eastern provinces of Sri Lanka who have lost one or both parents.

We believe that food, shelter, healthcare and education are fundamental rights of any child. A child’s experiences shape the rest of his or her life and unless action is taken early, a hurt and damaged child could become a troubled adult.

Many things we need can wait
The child cannot
Now is the time
His bones are being formed
His blood is being made
His mind is being developed
To him we cannot say tomorrow
His name is today
